For over 25 years, Intercall has been exporting nurse call systems to the Middle East. One of the cornerstones of that regional success is our presence at the annual Intersec exhibition in Dubai, where we’ve built relationships that have stood the test of time.
It was at one of the first Intersec editions that Intercall’s Duncan Lade travelled to Dubai with the exhibition panels literally strapped to his back. That year, Intercall exhibited as part of a UK Pavilion organised through Peter Nicholls at the BSIA (British Security Industry Association) with the support of DIT (Department of International Trade), aiming to encourage UK-based SMEs into the world of export.
That first show was a resounding triumph. Back then, hall space was shared with the equally prestigious Arab Health exhibition, which has also been significant in Intercall’s success in the region. Both Intersec and Arab Health exhibitions have grown to become stand-alone events taking place two weeks apart, with each filling all available hall space as well as the concourse.
This year’s Silver Jubilee edition celebrated 25 years of Intersec and was a great success delivering new business for Intercall as we welcomed stand visitors from 35 countries across the globe. With over 1,100 exhibitors and 47,506 trade buyers, we were delighted to secure our first order within the first hour of the event for a project in Lebanon supplied through partners MPi.
The Intercall stand is not just an exhibition space, it is also a meeting space for our distribution partners. We’re supported by MPi QR Division active in UAE, Oman and Iraq and across the region, Kyr Company from Egypt, Al Alameya Group in Saudi Arabia, Amps in Bahrain, Metrix in Pakistan, Titan in Kenya, and SP Securiton in Cyprus amongst others. One of our initial success stories was with Ideal Trading Group in Jordan, and it was a pleasure to welcome Haider Dajani and his team on to the stand as usual.
New and ongoing projects are discussed, while visits, seminars and future exhibitions are planned. Working with trusted partners and becoming part of their team, we help support them and their customers. One such collaboration with MPi in UAE has become a tradition in recent years, where the day following the exhibition, Intercall take part in a training seminar for MPi customers.
But it’s not all work, work! The evenings are spent with our distribution partners enjoying the bright lights of Dubai, reminiscing on the day’s events, and enjoying each other’s company over a delicious array of Arabic cuisine from across the region.
