KYN BICKLEY, the first home to have opened is a warm and welcoming space with 86 superbly comfortable private ensuite bedrooms, extensive gardens, a screening room and a spa. They have further sites in development with their second site, KYN HURLINGHAM due to open in early 2024.
KYN build exceptional homes for their residents, selecting only the best to furnish their homes, so their chosen nurse call system had to meet the high standards of both the interior design and the personal care programme. It had to not only look good but also perform in line with today’s technological expectations while being future-proof and flexible.
ntercall Touch was selected by KYN. Supplied and installed by Intercall distributors, Safety Systems Distribution Ltd, the system featuring the Safeguard thermal image sensor was installed throughout the home above every bed. The sensor provides an unobtrusive, passive monitor to accurately detect out-of-bed movement using body heat throughout the night, improving on false readings generated by traditional pressure mats.
All staff have been issued with individual ‘Care Card’ which identifies staff attendance and response on the nurse call system. KYN has cleverly incorporated the Intercall Access Point as door readers on request to exit buttons, which allows the same Card to be used throughout the establishment to open sensitive doors, answer call bells and arm the thermal imaging sensors.
With the homes offering personal patient-centred care ranging from residential support through to dementia care, the Intercall Touch equipment at KYN BICKLEY offers a high degree of independence for the residents whilst safely balancing the demand for good care and accountability.
