2023 was a turbulent year for many across the world. While for those of us in the UK, it was the year that we said goodbye to our longest serving Queen and looked forward with the Coronation of the new King. For the first time in March, London’s West End glowed with 30,000 festive lights to mark the holy month of Ramadan, making it the first celebration of its kind in a major European city. In August, we watched as India became the first country to land near the moon’s South Pole. While in Japan, for the first time one in 10 people were recorded as being over 80 years of age, while 30% of the population became over 65, echoing the world-wide trend of an aging population.
For Intercall, it was a year of reconnecting with partners and cementing international relationships. January saw us exhibit at Intersec Dubai, while June saw us take part in the KYR Seminar in Cairo with regional partners KYR For Supplying and Installing Equipment. In July we hit the road again, heading to Medicall India in Chennai, exhibiting with our Indian partners Maxlife Health Enterprises.
Meanwhile back in the UK, we caught up with friends and colleagues at The Care Show in October and took part in various regional Care Roadshows. Keeping busy behind the scenes, we relaunched the Intercall website in October and released the Intercall Android Programming App for wearable devices on the Google Play store.
An eventful year personally for the Intercall team, October saw Dr Michael Walton (aka Billy) complete the Three Peaks Challenge, while in November we made merry as Graham Chapman, Intercall Technical Director, celebrated his 60th birthday.
Looking ahead, 2024 promises to be another action-packed year. Kicking off with Intersec Dubai, we’re looking forward to taking part in the Silver Jubilee celebrations for this great event, proud to have been part of one of the first editions all those years ago. If you’re attending, come and say hello – you’ll find us exhibiting at Saeed Halls S2-F44.
