The Intercall story began in 1986 with the founding of Lismore Instruments Ltd, the UK manufacturer of the Intercall Brand, by David Hardy. David was an innovator and entrepreneur who saw the market potential and necessity of nurse call systems to improve care, creating addressable systems using microprocessor technology as opposed to the old bell and buzzer solutions. With this innovation, the Intercall brand was born.
We moved to our current headquarters near Horsham, West Sussex, in the late nineteen-nineties. Here we concentrate on R&D, sourcing the best components and building them into products from conception to implementation. PCB manufacture is conducted at a facility on the South Coast of England, while the final product is assembled under ISO 9001 standards at the factory in South London, before being boxed, labelled and returned to Head Office for distribution. We’re proud to fly the flag for UK Manufacturing, with all the quality and assurance that brings.
Over the years, Intercall has developed and improved, building a reputation as innovators of bespoke nurse call systems before expanding into new markets, including highly successful Cell Call solutions, and the Guardian staff attack range using infra-red for accurate location positioning.

It started with our founder David, and still runs through the business today headed by Simon Hardy, David’s son and Intercall’s Managing Director. With the advent of our most advanced, fully programmable and customisable Intercall IP Touch series, our latest entry level solution Intercall One, and Safeguard for Dementia, Intercall continues to grow and develop innovative solutions to support the care sector.
These days, Intercall exports to over 60 countries worldwide, including the Middle East, India, Africa and Europe, becoming an internationally recognised brand that has been installed in healthcare facilities and hospitals across the globe.
